That smile

2 weeks into clinicals 2A. Definitely a different experience from previous clinicals. Not just observations… More hands-on and interactions. One of the most challenging task during clinicals is definitely communicating with the elderly. It’s interesting how sometimes talking to elderly is like talking to a toddler. Simple words. 1 more week to go, and I know I’ll definitely miss the elderly patients there. And the factor that makes me miss them, and also the factor that always gives me the greatest satisfaction in the job is – making someone’s day. And that someone is someone who is grumpy and helpless. It really heartwarming to see that smile… the adorable toothless smile. Like this:

Now I’ll take care of you like how you used to take care of me

The difference between a helping hand and an outstretched palm is a twist of the wrist.  ~Laurence Leamer, King of the Night

When you give back to society, you’ll gain more than you can ever imagine.
