Hi! How’s everyone doing? I hope everyone is fine and surviving this inasanely warm weather!! It’s week 4 of the academic year and I am already finding myself a little overwhelmed by the many new things I’m learning. But I know what I’m learning will gear me up to be a good physiotherapist, so that’s what keeps me going. So everyone, hang in there and take a break by reading my entry (:
Last Friday, the sixth of May, we had the Welcome Party cum Director’s List presentation. A picture speaks a thousand words, so let’s get the pictures to do the talking 🙂
At LT K2 for the Director’s List presentation, our course manager Rashid. Congrats to all those in the list!
It was followed by a short presentation about the senior’s YEP trip to Hainan.
Theme for the party was Black to Basics because we wanted those present to look back to basics to what motivated them to take up physiotherapy 🙂
Daryl the council president giving a welcome address.
Promoting our own designed Physio file selling @ $2 each, where $1 per file goes to the proceeds of ‘Hair For Hope’.
Our emcees for the event: Gareth and Adeline! They did such a great job entertaining us throughout the whole event.
Inter-cohort game; where each student is priced and they had to form a group amounting to a certain amount.
One dollar? Heh.
We also played ‘Find My Clavicle’, a game where everyone was given a paper cut-out of certain bone(s), and they had to piece up the human skeleton like a jigsaw puzzle.
We had two physiotherapists as our invited speakers- Mr Derek and Ms Lee Sin Yi, answering queries we had relating to physiotherapy.
But someone had other plans..
My talented classmates providing live entertainment by singing a mash-up of Hey, Soul sister by Train and Count on me by Bruno Mars.
Even though numbers started to dwindle, that didn’t stop us from having fun, fun, fun!!
Back in the LT, our year ones from PT1102 were all ready for their performance!!
They were hilarious! Little wonder they got 1st 🙂
Our seniors (year 3s) put up an awesome item as well! If you can’t get enough of them, you can watch it @ http://www.youtube.com/user/nypphysiostudents! 😀
The talented duo from PT1004! Olivia and Farhanah 🙂 I loved their acoustic version of Born this way!
Before we put an end to the party, we had a duo dance-off within the year 1/2/3s!
I had an enjoyable time, and I have a few people to thank (:
Thank you to the year ones who came. To a small group for PT1101 who came up with an impromptu performance even though you guys were not prepared. To the other classes who put in the effort to come up with an item showing your talented side!!
To the year 3s who took time to come and join in the fun, thank you from the bottom of my heart! (:
Thank you to my batchmates for coming for the welcome party! It wouldn’t be as happening without you guys around.
Special thanks to these guys for helping us clean up after the event, and Fahmi for the photography/videeography skills and equipments. Really appreciate the kind help!
Last but definitely not the least, a big thank you to my dearest class PT1001! When schoolwork starts to get overwhelming and tiring, its friends like them who are there to keep you sane 🙂 ❤
Have a good week everyone 🙂
